Old Faces...Refreshed Memory 2

When I remember S, three stories come to mind:
* He asked me once to translate Lionel Richie's Hello because he could not understand the English lyrics. A girl, whom he had met, asked him to listen carefully to the song. I guessed she had a crush on him. Months later he told me they were in love, but the big gap between the social statuses of their families (his on the down scale) was the obstacle. Eventually the relationship could not survive.
* He visited Italy in the summer vacation after the third year at the university and was supposed to stay few weeks, but he loved it there and ended up staying almost 2 years during which he did different menial jobs. He had many stories about his "vagabondo" life there as he described it. He once worked with a traveling circus where he carried and repaired stuff in the mornings and wore white fairy costume with wings and got up on the stage in the evenings working as the magician assistant. I thought it must have been quite interesting to see S with his rough features and chevron mustache  in white winged costume. The magician was so kind to his angel that he offered S few times to join him and his wife in a threesome, but according to what S told me he always let the mago gently know that that was not his playground. Upon hearing that, I said to S he must have been a lousy magician, because if he was a good one he would have used his magic to force my friend to join the couple in their happy moments. S paused for a moment and then said "No, it wasn't really magic, they were all skillful tricks". "Tricks"? I mumbled.
* S' mother found no way to bring her son back home except by telling him his father, who was not critically ill, was few days away from knocking on heavens door. She thought once S came back, it would be easier to let him stay, finish his university and help his elder brother in their small family business. And right she was. He did not go back to Italy at least until the last time we met years ago and I doubt if he ever did.
